Variability
Big shout out to Heath Williams of Principle 4 Osteopathic Clinic and his ability to take common lifts and add a touch of variability. I had the pleasure of being taken through my paces yet again by Heath. I am pretty certain that lifting my hands above my head tomorrow is going to be difficult due to delayed onset muscle soreness. You will see in the video below one of the many ways you can spice up a classic exercise.
At Everything’s Connected we are obsessed with tweaking exercise to deepen the attractor well and reinforce the task. While understanding that load is important it is only one of many factors that can be modified to add demand to a exercise. Heath’s banded kettle bell loading is a great way of stimulating variability to increase stability demands while also shifting load. Due to the instability produced by the hanging kettle bells less load is required.
I can highly recommend giving this a go. Enjoy the burn
