The Hip

Below is a video of athletic superstar Caity Haniver. Caity has been recovering from a low back injury and the exercise is designed to stretch the hip flexors while challenging stability by offsetting the bar. Caity makes this look easy but I recommend you give it a go and find out for yourself. If you haven’t performed a dynamic kneeling hip flexor stretch before I would suggest skipping the bar altogether.

Adequate hip mobility for your desired task is important for protecting the lower back and if you have a job that requires you to sit all day I would highly recommend you get your hips mobile in three planes before attempting any exercise.

Ps. Having to limber up before we play is no excuse not to exercise
