Hip pain is sometimes best resolved via replacement surgery. However, surgery doesn’t mean that you get to skip out on your hip rehabilitation. Below is some video footage of one Everything’s Connected favorite athletes, Hermina. Hermina is 82 years young and adores her grandchildren more than anything. Hermina has undergone bilateral hip replacements as well as spinal fusion with rods from l2 to s1. Through hard work and determination, Hermina has gone from not being able to stand without pain to being able to walk without her stick in just over 8 months. Today it was time to introduce to her to the lunge matrix. If you read our previous posts we have discussed the lunge matrix before. While Hermina is able to walk without any aids you can see in the footage below we have tweaked her lunge with the wheely walker to ensure stability and form.
