Food of the Week – Liver
The team at Everything’s Connected was very lucky to receive these awesome homemade liver pate Christmas presents from David Sokoloff, who is an Osteopath at Melbourne Osteopathy Sports Injury Centre, sharing similar treatment morals as us. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to discuss the amazing benefits of liver.
Liver is a nutrient-dense superfood, which is packed full of vitamins and minerals. One of these important vitamins includes a range of B vitamins, with vitamin B12 levels the highest of any food. B vitamins are an important factor when looking at low energy levels, which is why using liver as a medical food can be helpful in these cases.
Iron is another mineral supplied in abundance from liver and again can be used to help assist raise iron stores with a daily dose of around 1- 2 tablespoons.
For a great liver pate, we highly recommend Offaly Good Food pate, which is organic, gluten and dairy free friendly.
