Communication
There is much writing out in the blogosphere about how important it is to have affective communication with patients to achieve successful treatment outcomes. This is not one of those blogs. This is about how cool technology is today to allow me to chat with my friends and colleagues who live all over the world. Thanks to Skype, What’s App and messenger video I get to have a discussion with loads of cool therapists doing exciting things.
In the last 4 days, I have spoken with Julia Szczechowicz Poland (Osteo Center), Dave Tiberio America (Gray Institute), Joe Rowley New Zealand, Debra Bakowska, Chris Wilkes (thirst4function), James Dodd Uk (BacktoBack). It’s amazing to be able to see the faces of these individuals, discuss clinical experiences, learn and laugh. I know it makes me sound old but I can still remember when it was difficult to hear the other person down the phone line let alone seeing them on a video screen. To all my friends overseas I can’t wait for the day where we can just teleport into each other’s lounge rooms.
